Role Description

This is a 100% contract (freelance) role for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, with an immediate start available.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Planning and design of high-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems for international industrial projects.
• Preparation of Single Line Diagrams, protection concepts, and technical specifications.
• Performing power system calculations, including short-circuit, selectivity, and load flow analyses.
• Technical coordination with internal disciplines (Automation, Process Engineering) and external suppliers.
• Integration of power distribution systems into the overall plant architecture, including interfaces with automation and process control systems (DCS/PLC).

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering within High-Voltage and Medium-Voltage environments.
• Experience in the design and specification of MV/HV switchgear, transformers, and power distribution systems in industrial plant projects
• Strong experience in creating Single Line Diagrams, electrical schematics, and protection concepts.
• Experience with selectivity studies, short-circuit calculations, and power system analysis.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (IEC, EN, and ideally UL)
• Understanding of interfaces with automation and control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA)
• Excellent English and German language skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with engineering tools such as COMOS and/or EPLAN.
• Experience within the paper industry.
• Experience working on international projects and remote engineering teams
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
