Role Description
This is a 100% contract (freelance) role for a Commissioning Manager – Data Centre.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Overall responsibility for the commissioning strategy, planning, and execution across all site systems
- Development and management of the commissioning programme, including sequencing and integration with construction activities
- Oversight of commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical, and critical infrastructure systems (UPS, generators, HVAC, BMS, fire systems, etc.)
- Coordination of subcontractors, vendors, and specialists involved in testing and commissioning
- Management of FAT, SAT, IST, and integrated testing activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and client standards
- Acting as the primary on‑site escalation point for commissioning‑related technical or programme issues
- Close interface with site management, project management, QA/QC, and client operational teams
- Ensuring commissioning documentation, records, test results, and sign‑offs are accurate and complete
- Supporting inspections, authority approvals, and readiness for operational handover
- Driving a safe commissioning environment, enforcing HSE standards and best practice throughout all testing activities
